Indonesia's Annexation Of East Timor: Climax Of Conflict
Number of pages:

ABSTRACT:
9 pages in length. It has been twenty-five long years that Indonesia has sought to control the tiny, impoverished island of East Timor. Battles between the world's fourth most-populous nation and the rest of the world have been an ongoing event ever since Indonesian leaders set their sites on the seemingly valueless piece of property. In spite of the fact that East Timor has been nothing more than an economic drain upon Indonesia for decades, the nation still wanted to maintain control over its people. East Timor, which is a one-time Portuguese colony, suffered invasion and ultimate annexation by Indonesia as the direct result of international protests in the middle of the 1970s. The writer discusses the conflict between Indonesia and East Timor in relation to the annexation in 1975. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
